Drug Take Back Day

West Chester, PA_ The Chester County District Attorney’s Office, Chester County Department of Drug and Alcohol Services, the Chester County Health Department and the COAD Group are promoting a County-wide prescription drug take back event to be held on Saturday, April 30th, 2011 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

This national event sponsored by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration is a public health effort to address the misuse of prescription drugs, especially among teenagers. According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, one in five teens has abused a prescription drug; 70% obtained these prescription drugs from a friend or relative.

Chester County residents are encouraged to bring expired or unused prescription medications as well as over the counter medications to the following drop off sites on April 30th:
