Board of Supervisors Regular Meeting May 1, 2014

NEW LONDON TOWNSHIP BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
MAY 1, 2014

The New London Township Board of Supervisors Regular Meeting convened at 7:30 PM. The following Supervisors were present: Chairman, Dale Lauver; Vice-Chairman, Robert Barto; Member, Gerard Porter.

PUBLIC COMMENT
No public comment on agenda items.

Linden Lawn Subdivision
Dale Lauver reported that Linden Lane, the roads in the Surrey Hills Subdivision and Kings Row Road are being reviewed as it is believed that the emulsion and chip product failed. Bob Barto spoke as to the steps that will take place in order to reapply. He explained that the first step will be to do some test strips prior to reapplying in the Subdivisions. Specs will be reviewed and the application will be monitored.

Connie Bagrosky – Mt. Hope Road Resident
Mrs. Bagrosky from Mt. Hope Road explained that her property is flooding. Roadmaster, Jack Arrell is aware of the problem and will meet with Township Engineer, Ron Ragan to review.

ADMINISTRATIVE ACTIONS

SECRETARY’S REPORT

Regular Meeting Minutes
On a motion made by Gerry Porter, seconded by Bob Barto, the April 3, 2014 Board of Supervisors Regular Meeting Minutes were approved. The vote was unanimous.

STAFF REPORTS

Treasurer Report
On a motion made by Gerry Porter, seconded by Bob Barto, the May 2014 bills were approved for payment and financial reports were accepted. The vote was unanimous.

Planning Commission
Ron Ragan reported that a quorum was not present, so the April Planning Commission work meeting was canceled.

Ron also reported that the Refuse & Recycling Ordinance has been sent to the solicitor, and that the Township Park Plan will be worked on next month.

Engineer
Ron reported that the culvert on Walnut Glen Bridge was overflowing in yesterday’s heavy rains. Jack Arrell is working on getting the utility poles moved for improvements to Walnut Glen Road.

Ron presented an Act 537 Plan budget for the Board to review. Half of the cost will be reimbursed by DEP. On a motion made by Gerry Porter, seconded by Bob Barto, the Board authorized Ron Ragan, Township Engineer to start the process.

Zoning Officer
Trish Fagan reported that seven (7) permits were issued in April, one (1) was for a single family dwelling. One (1) Use & Occupancy Certificate was issued for a single family dwelling in April.

Emergency Management
David Flad reported that the northern portion of the County still has roads closed as a result of the heavy rain yesterday. Dave drove around the Township and there were no major problems.

New Business
There will be no Board of Supervisor work meetings in June, July or August, 2014.

The meeting adjourned at 9:10 AM.
