WORK MEETING MINUTES

January 16, 2013

The New London Township Board of Supervisors Meeting convened at 7:30 PM at the New London Township Building, New London, PA.The following Supervisors were present:Vice Chairman, Robert Barto; Member, Gerard Porter.

PUBLIC COMMENT

No public comment on agenda items.

Logan Jirak-Eagle Scout Project

Logan presented the Board with a proposal for an Eagle Scout Project.  The project involves plantings, mulch and a park bench on the office side of the Township Building.  The Board thanked Logan for his presentation.  On a motion made by Gerry Porter, seconded by Bob Barto, Logan Jirak’s Eagle Scout Project was approved.  The vote was unanimous.

STAFF REPORTS

Jack Gardner-Auditor

There was discussion regarding appointing Berkheimer as a deputy tax collector and how it would impact the auditors.  The Board stated that they are not considering having appointed auditors.  The New London Township audit will take place on February 13th at 7:00 PM.

Tax Collector

Township resident, Ken Crossan informed the Board that he may have an interest in seeking the Tax Collector’s Office.  There was discussion about the duties of Tax Collector.  Ken will have a decision for the Board by the February 7th Board of Supervisors Meeting.

Work Meeting Minutes

On a motion made by Gerry Porter, seconded by Bob Barto, the December 19, 2012 Board of Supervisors Work Meeting Minutes were approved.  The vote was unanimous.

Old/New Business

David Sweet will write the legal ad for a public hearing for Ordinance Amendments.

The meeting adjourned at 9:08 PM.
