NEW LONDON TOWNSHIP BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
WORK MEETING MINUTES
November 18, 2015

The New London Township Board of Supervisors Work Meeting convened at 7:30 PM at the New London Township Building, New London, PA. The following Supervisors were present: Chairman, Dale Lauver; Vice Chairman, Gerard Porter; Member, Mary Anne Steel.

PUBLIC COMMENT

No public comment on agenda items.

ADMINISTRATIVE ACTIONS

State and Thunder Hill Road Intersection

A letter was received from a resident requesting a 4 way stop at the intersection. The Board discussed the intersection and talked about the improvements.

Check Signatures and Safety Deposit Box

A motion was made by Dale Lauver, seconded by Mary Anne Steel that the checks require two (2) signatures and can be signed by any of the three (3) Board members and the Treasurer and that the safety deposit box can be accessed by any of the Board Members and the Treasurer. Only one (1) person needs to be present. The vote was unanimous.

Regular Meeting Minutes and Work Meeting Minutes

On a motion made by Gerry Porter, seconded by Mary Anne Steel, the October 1, 2015 Regular Meeting Minutes and the October 21, 2015 Work Meeting Minutes were approved. The vote was unanimous.

STAFF REPORTS

Treasurer Report

On a motion made by Gerry Porter, seconded by Mary Anne Steel, the December, 2015 bills were approved for payment and financial reports were accepted. The vote was unanimous.

Planning Commission

Ron Ragan reported that the Planning Commission is working on cleaning up some previous ordinances and have some new ordinances that will be ready in the beginning of the year for advertising and holding the hearing.

Engineer Report

NPDES Permit – Ron reported that he is working on the TMDL Plan as part of NPDES Permit.

Traffic Light – Ron reported that he working on the add information.

Fire Hydrant – Thames Drive and Route 896 – Steve Flegal requested a hydrant at Thames Drive and the Gardner property. He also stated that the hydrant at West Avondale and State Road needs to be raised.

OLD BUSINESS

West Grove Fire Company

Vice Chairman, Gerry Porter reported that the West Grove Fire Company has requested an additional $45,000.00 a year to hire an additional career staff person. For New London Township it would be an additional $8,000.00. The Board agreed and is in favor of paying the $8,000.00 in December.
