The New London Township Planning Commission Meeting opened at 7:08 PM. Present were: Ron Ragan, Chairman; Mary Anne Steel, Vice Chairman; and Member, Martha Straus. The minutes were recorded by Maureen Zdun.

Minutes

Mr. Ragan asked if there were any corrections or additions to the Minutes for 5/28/15. Ms. Straus made a motion to approve the Minutes, Ms. Steel seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous.

Brandywine Conservancy – Riparian Buffer

Chairman Ron Ragan advised the Planning Commission that the Board of Supervisors did grant authorization for the Brandywine Conservancy to work with the township regarding the Riparian Buffer Ordinance.

Commonwealth Financing Authority – Greenways, Trails, and Recreation Program Grant

Chairman Ron Ragan presented a letter that was drafted to the Chester County Planning Commission, to be included in the Grant Application, advising that the New London Township Park is consistent with Chester County’s land use policy plan, Landscapes 2, and with the County’s short and long term recreation and conservation objectives and plans. Ms. Straus made a motion to include the letter with the Grant Application, Ms. Steel seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous.

Derek Strine Mt. Hope Properties

Derek Strine of Mt. Hope Properties presented the Planning Commission with a packet of information regarding the 12 ½ acre parcel located on Mt. Hope Road. Mr. Strine informed the Planning Commission that he was considering submitting a Preliminary Plan and would like to divide the parcel in to 5 separate lots. He was attending this meeting to inquire about the the Planning Commissions’ opinion regarding submitting the plan. Mr. Strine did inform the Planning Commission that it will all depend on the results of the soil perk test. There was some further discussion regarding this matter.

Bramble Subdivision Plan – Initial Review

The Planning Commission reviewed the June 4, 2015 Initial Review Letter from Township Engineer, Ron Ragan. There was some discussion regarding lot pins and a concrete monument. Ms. Straus informed the Planning Commission that she was concerned about the large Sycamore Tree at the curve in School Road and would like to see it saved. There was some discussion regarding this matter. It was agreed that the Planning Commission would take a trip to the site of the large Sycamore tree before the next meeting on June 25, 2015.

Other Business

Planning Commission Chairman, Ron Ragan, announced that he will be out of town and will not be attending the next Planning Commission Meeting on June 25, 2015.
