In the 1990s New London Township prepared historic documentation necessary to determine if the Village of New London is eligible for the National Register of Historic Places. A final determination by the state’s historic preservation office was never made. The Township is now re-examining this possibility.

In the last two weeks of August, 2011, Robert Wise and Seth Hinshaw, of Wise Preservation Planning, will be conducting a historic survey and photographic documentation of the village. Their field work will include photographing the exteriors of several buildings in the village. The survey does not involve any interior or close-up exterior inspection; all photography will be done from Newark and State Roads.

Mr. Wise and Mr. Hinshaw will carry identification as well as this letter. If you have any historic information about your property that you wish to share, please pass it along to the survey team or call the Township office.

If you have any questions about the project, please feel free to call the Township. Thank you.
