NEW LONDON TOWNSHIP BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
APRIL 5, 2018

The New London Township Board of Supervisors Regular Meeting convened at 7:00 PM at the New London Township Building, New London, PA. The following Supervisors were present: Chairman, Gerard Porter; Vice Chairman, Dale Lauver and Member, Mary Anne Steel.

PUBLIC COMMENT
No public comment on agenda items.

ADMINISTRATIVE ACTIONS

Bob Cook
Mr. Cook gave an overview of his project. He asks that the Township work with him and his brother to complete their Land Development Plan. He would like to move forward with the original plan. Gerry Porter suggested that Mr. Cook have the Plan updated and present to the Planning Commission. Mr. Cook will attend the Planning Commission Meeting next Wednesday.

Jack Garner – New London Township Audit Report
New London Township Auditor Chairman, Jack Gardner, presented the Board of Supervisors with an overview of the expenditures for the last couple of years. Jack stated that the Auditors would like the Board of Supervisors to consider collecting the Local Services Tax.

Dave Shirey – New London Township Clean Up Day
Dave Shirey reported that so far there has been a lot of interest in volunteering for the clean up day. The Christian Life Center will provide coffee.

SECRETARY’S REPORT

Regular Meeting Minutes
On a motion made by Dale Lauver, and seconded by Mary Anne Steel, the January 25, 2018 and March 1, 2018 Minutes were approved as presented. The vote was unanimous.

Treasurer Report
On a motion made by Mary Anne Steel, and seconded by Dale Lauver, the April, 2018 bills were approved for payment and financial reports were accepted as presented. The vote was unanimous.

STAFF REPORTS

Planning Commission
Planning Commission Vice Chairman, Mary Anne Steel, stated that some changes to the R – 1 Ordinance are in process.

Emergency Management
Dave Flad reported that the County opened Emergency Operating Centers numerous times last month. Mr. Flad is working on final updates to the Township’s Resource Manual. Christian Life Center has offered to help if there is need for shelter during storms.

Property and Building Use
Approval was given to begin work with some minor changes to meeting room with some minor changes.

Zoning Officer
Trish Fagan reported that eleven (11) permits were issued in March. Two (2) permits were issued for Single Family Dwellings in March.
