NEW LONDON TOWNSHIP BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
August 7, 2014
The New London Township Board of Supervisors Regular Meeting convened at 7:32 PM. The following Supervisors were present: Chairman, Dale Lauver; Vice-Chairman, Robert Barto; Member, Gerard Porter.
PUBLIC COMMENT
Lisa Jones presented the Board with a picture of the Avon Grove Adrenaline ball team members. Lisa read a letter thanking the Board for the use of the field.
SCHEDULED ACTIONS & PRESENTATIONS
STATE POLICE REPORT
Corporal Kelly Cruz provided the Board with statistics for the last three months of calls handled by the State Police for the Township. He encouraged residents to report any suspicious persons or activities.
Mr. Walls, a New London Township resident discussed speeding issues in the township.
ADMINISTRATIVE ACTIONS
Township Road & Tree Bids
Harlan Construction was the only bidder for road equipment w/operator. Pusey Tree Care was the only bidder for tree work. The Township will purchase road materials through the Costars Program. On a Motion by Bob Barto and seconded by Gerry Porter, the above-mentioned bids were awarded. The vote was unanimous.
Emergency Management-AM Radio Station 1670
David Flad reported that AGREM is attending township meetings in their coverage area requesting contributions in order the get the AM radio station online this year. They are requesting $1.00 per capita in order the get station 1670 up and running. The Board was in agreement to fund New London’s portion of the cost. On a motion made by Gerry Porter, seconded by Bob Barto, the amount of $5631.00 was approved. The vote was unanimous.
Walnut Glen Road
The Board was in agreement that the road work is to be completed before the work on the culvert.
SECRETARY’S REPORT
Regular Meeting Minutes
On a motion made by Gerry Porter, seconded by Bob Barto, the July 3, 2014 Board of Supervisors Regular Meeting Minutes were approved. Dale abstained from the vote as he was not present at the July 3, 2014 meeting.
STAFF REPORTS
Treasurer Report
On a motion made by Gerry Porter, seconded by Bob Barto, the August 2014 bills were approved for payment and financial reports were accepted. The vote was unanimous.
Planning Commission
No report.
Engineer
No report.
Zoning Officer
Trish Fagan reported that six (6) permits were issued in July, one (1) was for a single family dwelling; two (2) Use & Occupancy Certificates were issued for single family dwellings in July.

David Flad reported that hazard mitigation paperwork will be submitted to the County tomorrow.
