NEW LONDON TOWNSHIP BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

REGULAR MEETING MINUTES

December 1, 2011

 

The New London Township Board of Supervisors Meeting convened at 7:30 PM at the New London Township Building, New London, PA. The following Supervisors were present: Chairman, Dale Lauver; Member, Gerard Porter.

 

PUBLIC COMMENT

No public comment on agenda items.

 

2012 Fire Company Contract

On a Motion made by Dale Lauver, seconded by Gerry Porter, the Fire Company for 2012 Contract was approved.

 

2012 SPCA Contract

On a Motion made by Gerry Porter, seconded by Dale Lauver, the SPCA Contract for 2012 was approved.

 

SECRETARY’S REPORT

On a Motion made by Gerry Porter, seconded by Dale Lauver, the October 6, 2011 Minutes were approved as presented. The November 3, 2011 Minutes could not be approved due to Dale Lauver’s absence at the November 3rd meeting.

 

TREASURER’S REPORT

On a Motion made by Gerry Porter, seconded by Dale Lauver, the Bills to Be Paid for December were approved and the financial reports were accepted as presented.

 

STAFF REPORTS

Planning Commission

 

Ron Ragan reported the following:

 

Awaiting the County’s comments to the Comprehensive Plan.

 

Ron met with Sunoco/A-Plus who will submit applications for a Conditional Use and Zoning Hearing.

 

Engineer’s Report

 

Ron reported that the Wastewater Treatment Plant at Wheatland Farms had a walk-through with vendors and the Plant will start up with DEP on the 7th of December.

 

The West Avondale Bridge top coat of asphalt will be applied tomorrow and the guide rail will be fabricated. Lighted barrels will be placed until the guide rail is installed.

 

Thunder Hill Road – Ron Ragan sent sketches to Robert Lester but has not yet heard back from him regarding improvement to the western portion.

 

The Countywide ACT 167 (Stormwater) Ordinance is in process.

 

Zoning Officer

Trish Fagan reported that two (2) permits were issued; three (3) Use & Occupancy Certificates were issued; two (2) were for single-family dwellings.

 

Emergency Management

Mike Predmore reported the following:

 

There was a mercury spill in front of the A-Plus a couple of weeks ago. The County HazMat team contained it and hauled it away.

 

The County is working on NIMS classes at the Technical College in Penn Township.

 

Mike will submit the EOP prior to the Reorganization meeting in January.

 

Property & Building Use

Dale will get an estimate for a Bilco door under the porch.
