NEW LONDON TOWNSHIP BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

REGULAR MEETING MINUTES

FEBRUARY 6, 2014

 The Board of Supervisors Regular Meeting convened at 7:33 PM. The following Supervisors were present:  Chairman, Dale Lauver; Vice-Chairman, Robert Barto; Member, Gerard Porter.

PUBLIC COMMENT

No public comment on agenda items.

Ordinance for Target Shooting

A letter was received from a resident regarding target shooting in back yards.  The Board of Supervisors will ask the Township Solicitor to research the possibility of an ordinance to prohibit.

ADMINISTRATIVE ACTIONS

SECRETARY’S REPORT

Regular Meeting Minutes

On a motion made by Bob Barto, seconded by Gerry Porter, the January 6, 2014 Board of Supervisors Meeting Minutes were approved.  Bob Barto abstained from the vote as he was not present at the meeting.

STAFF REPORTS

Treasurer Report

On a motion made by Bob Barto, seconded by Gerry Porter, the February, 2014 bills were approved for payment and financial reports were accepted.  The vote was unanimous.

Planning Commission

Chairman, Ron Ragan reported that the Brown Partnership Land Development Plan has been received.  Ron also reported that the Refuse and Recycling Ordinance was reviewed by DEP and it will be ready soon.  Ron also reported that the base map for the Park will be ready for the next meeting.  Also, the Board of Supervisors approved hiring David Sweet to consult for grant applications for DCNR Funding for the park.

Engineer

Township Engineer, Ron Ragan reported that the bid package for the Walnut Glen Drive Bridge Project will go out in March.  Ron provided a flow chart for the new Stormwater Management Ordinance.

Zoning Officer

Trish Fagan reported that six (6) permits were issued in January.  One (1) Use & Occupancy Certificate was issued in January.

Property and Building

On a motion made by Bob Barto, seconded by Gerry Porter, the proposal from ECE was accepted for work in the basement and additionally, the Board would like 3 or 4 shop lights added to the proposal.  The vote was unanimous.

Roadmaster

Roadmaster, Jack Arrell gave a report on how the Township handled the ice storm.  Jack asked how the Township can control bamboo on properties that blocked the road during the ice storm.  Jack reported that he would like to continue with shoulder work this Spring.
