NEW LONDON TOWNSHIP BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

REGULAR MEETING MINUTES

June 5, 2014

The New London Township Board of Supervisors Regular Meeting convened at 7:30 PM.  The following Supervisors were present:  Chairman, Dale Lauver; Vice-Chairman, Robert Barto; Member, Gerard Porter.

 

PUBLIC COMMENT

No public comment on agenda items.

ADMINISTRATIVE ACTIONS

 

Ordinance No. 2014-2 (Fences and Walls), 2014-3 (Wind Energy Systems), 2014-4 (Solar Energy Systems) and 2014-5 (Public Gathering)

On a Motion made by Gerry Porter, seconded by Bob Barto, Ordinance Nos. 2014-2, 2014-3, 2014-4, 2014-5 were approved.  The vote was unanimous.

Resolution No. 2014-6-1- Agricultural Security Area-Brown Property-373 Saginaw Road

On a Motion made by Bob Barto, seconded by Gerry Porter, Resolution No. 2014-6-1 was approved.  The vote was unanimous.

Avon Grove School District Sewer Issue

Dale Lauver gave an overview of a request from AGSD regarding sewer operations.  The Board will plan a meeting for a future date to discuss.

SECRETARY’S REPORT

 

Regular Meeting Minutes

On a motion made by Gerry Porter, seconded by Bob Barto, the May 1, 2014 Board of Supervisors Regular Meeting Minutes were approved.  The vote was unanimous.

 

STAFF REPORTS

 

Treasurer Report

On a motion made by Gerry Porter, seconded by Bob Barto, the June 2014 bills were approved for payment and financial reports were accepted.  The vote was unanimous.

 

Planning Commission

Ron Ragan reported that the Refuse & Recycling Ordinance is still with the solicitor for review.  On a Motion made by Bob Barto, seconded by Gerry Porter, the Board agreed to reimburse Charlie Humkey to attend a seminar on refuse and recycling.

Ron also reported that there are no new subdivision/land development plans, and that the Brown Land Development Plan is still in process.

Ron reported that there is no information yet on the DCNR Grant for the park.

Engineer

Ron Ragan met with Jack Arrell and a representative from Verizon to discuss the relocation of some utility poles on Walnut Glen Rd. 

Ron also reported that the MS4 Annual Report will be sent tomorrow.

Wynstone Subdivision

All work is complete.  Wilkinson would like the performance guarantee closed out.

Zoning Officer

Trish Fagan reported that ten (10) permits were issued in May; one (1) Use & Occupancy Certificate was issued for a single family dwelling in May.

 

Emergency Management

David Flad reported that AGREM will not meet in June, July and August.

David also reported that the AM radio project is moving forward (AM 1670).  Testing will take place at the water tower in West Grove.

The basement floor has been poured and the steps have been ordered.

Road Report

Bob Barto stated that Thunder Hill Road at the dead end is in need of repairs.

The meeting adjourned at 8:43 PM.
