NEW LONDON TOWNSHIP BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
October 4, 2012
The New London Township Board of Supervisors Regular Meeting convened at 7:35 PM. The following Supervisors were present: Chairman, Dale Lauver; Vice-Chairman, Robert Barto; Member, Gerard Porter.
PUBLIC COMMENT
No public comment on agenda items.
SCHEDULED ACTIONS/PRESENTATIONS
Webb Edwards
Mr. Edwards requested to use the Township Building for meetings for the Order of the Jungle Cock. The organization promotes fishing for youth and also works to improve streams. They help stock the streams in the area. They meet the first Sunday in January and possibly one other date.
The Board decided to consider the request and did not make a final decision.
West Grove Fire Company
William O’Connell, President gave an overview of the topics that were discussed at a meeting a couple of weeks ago for the municipalities. The Fire Company is not requesting any additional funding from the townships for 2013. The ambulance has paid staff available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. He thanked the Board of Supervisors for their support of the Fire Company. The Fire Company has 65 volunteers. Workers Compensation Insurance was discussed and the history numbers for the one housed in housed in New London will be needed to bill out the costs.
Michael Moore – 5 Spring Hill Drive
Mr. Moore read a letter he prepared to the Board of Supervisors regarding evergreens in the right-of-way. There was discussion between Mr. Moore and the Board.
SECRETARY’S REPORT
On a Motion made by Bob Barto, seconded by Gerry Porter, the September 6, 2012 Board of Supervisors Regular Meeting Minutes were approved as written. The vote was unanimous.
TREASURER’S REPORT
On a Motion made by Gerry Porter, seconded by Dale Lauver, the Bills to Be Paid for October were approved and the financial reports were accepted as presented. The vote was unanimous.
STAFF REPORTS
Planning Commission
Ron Ragan reported that the McKinney re-subdivision has been submitted. The Planning Commission is looking at an ordinance for dangerous trees. A PECO Grant for the design of the park will be completed.
Engineer
Ron Ragan reported that the NPDES MS4 Permit has been submitted. A survey of Walnut Glen and Lewisville Road was approved by the Board.
Zoning Officer
Trish Fagan reported that nine (9) permits were issued in September.
Emergency Management
AGREM meetings have re-started. A tabletop demonstration will be provided for the Township officials showing a mock emergency.
Newsletter
The Newsletter should be completed and mailed out to residents shortly.
Building/Property Use
Minor projects can be submitted to Elk Creek Enterprises.
Road Enhancement Committee
No report.
The meeting adjourned at 10:10 PM.
