NEW LONDON TOWNSHIP BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
JUNE 3, 2010
The New London Township Board of Supervisors Regular Meeting convened at 7:30 PM at the New London Township Building, New London, PA. The following Supervisors were present: Dale Lauver, Robert Barto and Gerard Porter.
PUBLIC COMMENT
No public comment on agenda items.
ADMINISTRATIVE ACTIONS
Lt. Tracy Brown, PA State Police, Avondale Barracks
Lt. Brown introduced Trooper Miller. Lt. Brown is replacing Lt. Sneed who retired. Lt. Brown stated that vehicles have had items stolen because the cars were left unlocked. Questions from the Board of Supervisors and residents were answered by Lt. Brown.
SECRETARY’S REPORT
On a motion made by Bob Barto, seconded by Gerry Porter, the April 21st and May 6th Meeting Minutes were approved as presented. The vote was unanimous.
TREASURER’S REPORT
On a motion made by Bob Barto, seconded by Gerry Porter, the Bills To Be Paid for June were approved and the financial reports were accepted as presented. The vote was unanimous.
STAFF REPORTS
Planning Commission
Ron Ragan reported that the Planning Commission recommends that the Large Animal Ordinance be reviewed and changed. Ron also reported that the Planning Commission recommends that the Board of Supervisors reviews the Section on Accessory Dwelling Units. On a motion made by Gerry Porter, seconded by Bob Barto, approval to review and amend the above Ordinances was given. The vote was unanimous. Ron Ragan also reported the following: Cook Land Development Plan – The review letter needs a response. Illicit Connection Ordinance is ready for adoption at the July Meeting. The Comprehensive Plan is still in process.
Engineer
Ron Ragan reported the following: The final grading at the Utility Building is taking place and the paving will be done next week. The MS4 annual report will be submitted. CWA will be excavating to find water pipe near the W. Avondale Rd. Bridge. The permit application is in place. In mid-June a temporary fix will take place at Conards Mill Road Bridge. He has the site plan to work on the corner of Saginaw Rd. & Rt. 896. Excavation should start soon for treatment plant and drip fields at the Wheatland Farms Subdivision.
Zoning Officer
Trish Fagan reported that twelve (12) permits were issued in May; four (4) were for single family dwellings. One (1) Use & Occupancy Certificates was issued in May for a single family dwelling.
Tax Collector
Roxanne Schroll wrote a letter to the Board of Supervisors regarding the tax collector position. The Board of Supervisors asked for Roxanne to attend the July 1st meeting to discuss.
Emergency Management
No report.

Property & Building Use
Items on punch list for the Utility Building will be addressed.
Roadmaster Report
Pothole on Saginaw Rd. will be repaired.
Road Enhancement Committee
No report.
OLD/NEW BUSINESS
On a motion made by Dale Lauver and seconded by Bob Barto, Signal Service Inc.’s contract for the traffic signal at Violet Lane was accepted. The vote was unanimous.
Assessment Appeals
None.
