NEW LONDON TOWNSHIP BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
APRIL 4, 2019
The New London Township Board of Supervisors Regular Meeting convened at 7:00 PM at the New London Township Building, New London, PA. The following Supervisors were present: Chairman, Gerard Porter; Vice Chairman, Dale Lauver and Member, Mary Anne Steel.
PUBLIC COMMENT
No public comment on agenda items.
ADMINISTRATIVE ACTIONS
Township Clean Up Day
Dave Shirey gave an update on the clean up day scheduled for April 13, 2019. They will also work on some roads in West Grove and Avondale. Christian Life Center will handle the recyclable items. They will also provide coffee and water. They will need more caution signs for next year.
Bowwood Subdivision Preliminary Plan
On a Motion made by Gerry Porter, and seconded by Mary Anne Steel, to approve the Bowwood Subdivision Preliminary Plan date July 11, 2018, latest revision
March 18, 2019. The vote was unanimous.
Thunder Hill Road Tree Removal Proposal
The Township received two (2) proposals for the tree removal. The Township right of way area has been surveyed and marked.
SECRETARY’S REPORT
Regular Meeting Minutes
On a motion made by Gerry Porter, and seconded by Dale Lauver, the March 7, 2019 Regular Meeting Minutes were approved as presented. The vote was unanimous.
Treasurer Report
On a motion made by Gerry Porter, and seconded by Mary Anne Steel, the April, 2019 bills were approved for payment and financial reports were accepted as presented. The vote was unanimous.
STAFF REPORTS
Planning Commission
Chairman, Ron Ragan, reported that the finishing touches are being added to the
RA, R-1, R-2 Consolidated Ordinance, Accessory Dwelling Unit Ordinance, and the Riparian Buffer Ordinance, to be ready for approval to advertise.
Szymanski Subdivision Plan – Mr. Szymanski has failed to file a Plan with the required notes added.
Engineer’s Report
Township Engineer, Ron Ragan, reported that the easement plan and description has been prepared by Crossan – Raimato, Inc. for the area needed for the traffic light.
West Avondale Bridge Repair – Is covered under original permit from the DEP.
MS4 – Work is still in process.
New London Township Park – Cost estimate is in process.
Property and Building Use
Interactive TV – Two (2) options were discussed. Option one (1) is a Sharp Model for $3900.00 and Option two (2) is a Dell Model for $2500.00 for the meeting room.
Motion was made by Gerry Porter, and seconded by Dale Lauver, to accept option two (2) from Tom’s TV.
Zoning Officer
Trish Fagan reported that eight (8) permits were issued in March. No new single family dwelling permits were issued.
OLD / NEW BUSINESS
New London Township Park
The Park Committee held their first meeting on Wednesday, April 3, 2019. The meetings will be on the first Wednesday of each month.
The meeting adjourned at 9:00 PM.
