NEW LONDON TOWNSHIP BOARD OF SUPERVISORS REGULAR MEETING MINUTES February 3, 2022
The New London Township Board of Supervisors Regular Meeting convened at 7:00 PM at the New London Township Building, New London, PA. The following Supervisors were present: Gerard Porter, Chairman; Dale Lauver, Vice Chairman; and Mary Anne Steel, Supervisor.
PUBLIC COMMENT
There was no public comment on Agenda items.
203 Porter Road
Mr. O’Brien stated that he would like to donate a 1.1 acre lot which has access from both West Avondale Road and Porter Road to the Township. The Board stated that due to the amount of wetland area the Township cannot see how it could be used. They suggested checking with a land conservancy.
Website Update
A motion was made by Gerry Porter, seconded by Mary Anne Steel to approve and accept the website design proposal from Gail M. Pietrzyk for $300.00. The vote was unanimous.
Masonic Lodge
Jim Hertag and Raymond Mackey addressed the Board of Supervisors that they would like to expand community outreach. They would like to put a refrigerator in the room where the AGREM meets. They want to utilize that room more. They requested to have access to Wifi to hold zoom meetings. They would like to utilize the pavilion to hold fund raisers.
Chickens
Township resident Jim Mergliano advised that he would like to have an Ordinance change to permit chickens on less ground. No commitment was made by the Board to change the Ordinance.
SECRETARY’S REPORT
Regular Meeting Minutes
On a motion by Gerry Porter, seconded by Mary Anne Steel, the January 3, 2022 Reorganization and Regular Meeting Minutes were approved as presented. The vote was unanimous.
Treasurer’s Report
On a motion by Dale Lauver, seconded by Mary Anne Steel, the February bills were approved for payment and the financial reports were approved as presented. The vote was unanimous.
STAFF REPORTS
Planning Commission
Planning Commission Chairman, Ron Ragan, reported that there are no new subdivisions. Work continues on rewriting some Ordinances as well as new Ordinances.
Engineer’s Report
New London Township Park – Martha Straus provided an RFP for the Park Master Plan update for the Board to review. There was some discussion on starting the process for a new Master Plan for the park. The Board authorized Ragan Engineering and Straus Associates to do the work for the Phase 2 Master Plan.
Zoning Report
Zoning Officer, Trish Fagan, reported that eight (8) building permits were issued in January. There were two (2) single family dwellings.
OLD / NEW BUSINESS
Wheatland Farms Waste Water Treatment Plant
There was some discussion on the waste water treatment plant.
