NEW LONDON TOWNSHIP BOARD OF SUPERVISORS WORK MEETING MAY 19, 2021
The New London Township Board of Supervisor’s Work Meeting convened at 7:09 PM on May 19, 2021 virtually via Zoom teleconference. Board Members present were: Chairman, Gerry Porter; Vice Chairman, Dale Lauver; and Supervisor, Mary Anne Steel.
ADMINISTRATIVE ACTIONS
Announce Executive Session
Gerry announced an executive session was held prior to the May Regular Meeting to discuss property acquisition.
960 State Road – Farrell Property
The Township has purchased the Farrell property located at 960 State Road. The settlement date is June 18, 2021. The purchase price is $350,000.00 plus closing costs.
A Motion was made by Gerry Porter, seconded by Mary Anne Steel, to purchase the Farrell property located at 960 State Road for $350,000.00 plus closing costs. The vote was unanimous.
Wheatland Farms Waste Water Treatment Plant
Gerry stated that the two (2) options are the HOA operates or Township operates it. The Board discussed the options and the steps for the Township to take it over.
American Rescue Plan
Gerry Porter attended the PSATS meeting virtually regarding the American Rescue Plan. Funds can be spent on MS4 projects and broadband connections can be a part of the funds. Start date is March 3, 2021 for any eligible costs relating to Covid. All projects must be started by 2024 and completed by 2026. Fifty (50) percent of the funds will be received in June of this year and the remaining fifty (50) percent of the funds will be received in June of 2022. Any unspent funds go to the State to reallocate to another municipality.
Masking
Gerry advised that the rules have changed for wearing masks indoors. The Board discussed future options.
Landscape Ordinance
The Board of Supervisors has questions on a couple of items. The Landscape Ordinance will be put on the Agenda for the next meeting.
Paul Bucklin
Mr. Bucklin has requested assistance with FEMA to settle flood plain error on his property at 1051 Kings Row Road.
