NLT PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES FOR
05/08/2018
The New London Township Planning Commission Meeting opened at 7:00 PM. Present were: Ron Ragan, Chairman; Mary Anne Steel, Vice Chairman; Members Charlie Humkey and
Lynn Klingensmith. Member Martha Straus was not present. The minutes were recorded by Maureen Zdun.
Public Comment
Ashley and Angelo Melasecca addressed the Planning Commission regarding the property at 1360 State Road which they are interested in purchasing. They advised of their intention to have a septic business on the property and that they would like to start a wedding event venue out of the existing barn on the property. They would maintain the character of the property if they were to start such a business. There was some discussion relating to the Zoning Ordinance. It was recommended by the Planning Commission that they request a Zoning Hearing, with the Zoning Hearing Board, for a variance to the Ordinance.
RA, R – 1, R – 2 Consolidated Ordinance Amendment
New London Township Consultant, David Sweet, distributed the latest draft amendment, dated May 9, 2018, to the Ordinance. It was agreed that the Planning Commission Members would review the Amendments and contact Mr. Sweet with any concerns or changes by Thursday,
May 24, 2018. Mr. Sweet would then incorporate the changes and have a final draft to review at the next Planning Commission Meeting on Thursday, May 31, 2018.
Fees in Lieu Ordinance Amendment
Township Consultant, David Sweet, distributed the latest draft amendment to the Ordinance dated May 9, 2018. There was some discussion regarding the amendment.

On a Motion made by Lynn Klingensmith, and seconded, by Charlie Humkey, and approved unanimously, the meeting adjourned at 9:00 PM.
