WORK MEETING MINUTES

January 18, 2012

The New London Township Board of Supervisors Meeting convened at 7:40 PM at the New London Township Building, New London, PA.  The following Supervisors were present:  Chairman, Dale Lauver; Vice-Chairman, Bob Barto; Member, Gerard Porter.

PUBLIC COMMENT

No public comment on agenda items.

John R. St. John/Carol St. John Timbering Plan

Dale Lauver stated that there are two open items for the timbering plan:  liability and road bonding.  Township Solicitor, Winnie Sebastian stated that Ron Ragan will assess the road to come up with an amount for a bond.  Ron Wawrousek who created the timbering plan gave an overview of his experience and the plan submitted.  Discussion ensued on various legal issues and opinions.

Robert Weer-West Grove Fire Company

Dale Lauver asked Fire Chief Robert Weer about the merger of the Fire Company and Ambulance Divisions.  Robert stated that the merger was effective on January 1, 2012.  The formula for township charges is based on population and number of calls.

Jack Arrell-Road Master

Jack Arrell talked about stormwater affecting roads.  He drove the subdivision during heavy rain to observe water run-off.

JMC Contractors, Inc. Invoice

On a Motion made by Gerry Porter, seconded by Bob Barto, approval was given to pay the balance of $26,794.60 for the W. Avondale Rd. Bridge replacement.  The vote was unanimous.

Tax Collector-P.O. Box Invoice

On a Motion made by Bob Barto, seconded by Gerry Porter, the invoice submitted for a post office box presented by the Tax Collector for payment was denied.  The vote was unanimous.

Yard Clipper Invoice

On a Motion made by Bob Barto, seconded by Gerry Porter, approval was given to pay Yard Clipper’s invoice for grass cutting in the amount of $1,046.25. The vote was unanimous.

The December 21, 2011 Meeting Minutes were approved with a change regarding JMC’s Invoice for the West Avondale Road Bridge replacement.  The vote was unanimous.
